In qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Massa once again won the pole position in front of his hometown, and Hamilton and Raikkonen were ranked second and third respectively. A driver who has dropped out of the championship race won the pole position, which brought more attention to tomorrow’s race.
Netease Sports reported on October 21st that in the just-concluded qualifying session of the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix in 2007, Massa from Ferrari won the pole position with a score of 1 minute, 11 seconds, 931, McLaren driver Hamilton ranked second, Raikkonen and Alonso ranked third and fourth respectively.
Massa’s hometown won pole position, which made the race more suspenseful.
The first stage:
Sutil and Sakon Yamamoto went to the track first, and the Japanese first made a score of 1 minute, 16 seconds and 135 seconds. Most drivers didn’t come to the track in the first five minutes. In 10 minutes, Fisichella made a score of 1 minute, 14 seconds and 026, and then Coulthard rose to the second place with a score of 1 minute, 13 seconds and 264. At this time, Ferrari and McLaren drivers have not officially started to do their own results. I believe that they can go back to the pits to repair as long as they make one or two achievements.
In 8 minutes, Hamilton made a time of 1 minute and 13 seconds 033, which was the first time for the British to run qualifying at the Interlagos circuit. Then his teammate Alonso only made a time of 1 minute and 13 seconds 674, ranking fifth, while Raikkonen behind the Spaniard ran a time of 1 minute and 13 seconds 016. But then several big-name drivers began to do laps again. Obviously, the previous drivers didn’t run at the normal pace. About the 10th minute, Ferrari driver Massa ran a score of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 303 in his first effective lap. The Brazilian worked very hard in his hometown.
On the last lap, many drivers, including Schumacher and Kouvalainen, were working hard to enter the second qualifying session. Alonso, on the other hand, raised his score to 1 minute, 12 seconds, 895, and rose to second place. In the end, the top four drivers in qualifying at this stage are: Massa, Alonso, Raikkonen and Hamilton. The drivers eliminated at this stage are: Sakon Yamamoto, Sutil, Davidson, Koichi Nakajima, takuma sato and Kouvalainen, and all three Japanese drivers were eliminated.
The second stage:
In the first 5 minutes of this stage, no driver drove on the track to make achievements. Five minutes later, Schumacher first appeared on the track, and the German took the lead in making a score of 1 minute 13 seconds 783, which was later refreshed by teammate Trulli with a score of 1 minute 13 seconds 024. Then the big-name drivers began to make achievements. After Massa made 1 minute 12 seconds 374, Raikkonen and Hamilton successively made 1 minute 12 seconds 161 and 1 minute 12 seconds 296, ranking first and second temporarily. However, Alonso’s performance is still quite bad, with 1 minute, 12 seconds and 637 seconds only ranking fourth. After finishing this batch of results, all the drivers returned to the garage for finishing. Only two BMW drivers on the track are trying their best to do their best.
There are still three minutes left in the second stage of the race. Ferrari and McLaren have given up the opportunity to do their best again. It seems that the two teams still want to make some reservations before the decisive battle comes. While the midstream team is fighting for the chance to enter the top ten. The most dangerous thing is still the Toyota team. Schumacher is still in the top 10 after struggling for two laps. Renault veteran Giancarlo Fisichella has not escaped being eliminated, and BMW’s heidfeld squeezed out Honda driver Barrichello who fought locally at the last minute and made it into the top 10. Obviously, BMW has given up on this season. They have been mediocre in these two races and their eyes have been set far into the 2008 season. In the end, the eight drivers eliminated in this qualifying session are Barton, Schumacher Jr., Riuz, Vettel, Fisichella and Barrichello.
The third stage:
As usual, the drivers lined up at the exit of the pit. Today, the first driver was McLaren driver Hamilton, his teammate Alonso was behind him, and behind the silver arrow were two Ferrari cars. The green light at the exit of the pit is open, and drivers are driving on the track. The first 8 minutes is still a necessary fuel consumption stage, and interested drivers can play overtaking games on the track in advance, but it is a necessary task for drivers to consume fuel properly. After leaving the station, Raikkonen had already bitten the former Alonso, but there was absolutely no need for them to start full-scale hand-to-hand combat at this time. Massa, on the other hand, gave way to BMW’s Kubica actively, and the Brazilians wanted to make more room for their achievements.
In 8 minutes, Raikkonen and Massa first stopped to change tires, and both of them put on soft tires and went out to make achievements, while McLaren there had no plans to stop at all. A minute later, Hamilton and Alonso entered the station in tandem, and they also put on soft tires and left the station. The final qualifying competition between Silver Arrow and Red Devils this season started in the 10th minute. After that, Raikkonen first made a score of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 539, followed by Massa, who refreshed the score to 1 minute, 12 seconds and 128. The speed of Ferrari was very fast. However, the performance of McLaren behind him seems to have a certain gap. Hamilton rose to the second place with a score of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 296, while Alonso’s score was still not good. The score of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 637 was not even as fast as that of Red Bull’s Webber.
Several drivers stopped for the last time to change tires and make a full sprint. After Hamilton left the station, he was just in front of Raikkonen, who left the station one lap earlier. Obviously, the Finn was in a hurry, and his performance in the second counting period was very bad, but he still had one more lap compared with McLaren. When the timer stopped, Massa made the best score of 1 minute, 11 seconds and 931 at the last minute, followed by Hamilton’s score of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 082, which was 0.28 seconds slower than Massa! Massa won pole position in Interlagos! Alonso is only fourth! A driver who has dropped out of the championship competition won the pole position, which brought a lot of points for tomorrow’s race! In the end, the top ten drivers who started the race in Brazil were Massa, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Alonso, Weber, heidfeld, Kubica, Trulli, Coulthard and Rosberg.
