Speaking about the original intention of "The God of Cookery", director Ye Weimin said: "As a Spring Festival comedy, the most different thing about’The God of Cookery ‘is’heart-to-heart’. Food is a common topic of human beings. After watching the film, the taste is left in everyone’s heart, and the heart is warm."
As the film’s chief producer and executive producer, Ms. Hovinci said of the film: "’Twelve Sharks’ made me and Ting Feng feel the emotion of food itself, so we spent two years preparing and building an independent story. In order to shoot cooking, even the sound of cooking and the brightness of the screen have to be carefully controlled, which is really a difficult task. Talking about the difference between "God of Cookery" and "Twelve Sharks", Nicholas Tse said: "It’s completely different from the show, it’s 100% new! That’s why I found so many excellent actors and teachers, and I took great pains to complete a new story." He particularly pointed out that each dish in the film must be cooked with the emotion and temperature required by the director. This time, "The God of Cookery" is the second film collaboration between Nicholas Tse and Tang Yan after "The Wind and Cloud 2" eight years ago. At the scene, Tang Yan said that this time the role is Nicholas Tse’s "fan girl". "Nicholas Tse and I are childhood sweethearts in the film. One is the god of cooking and the other is the lady boss.
