Yesterday (11th) afternoon, Jolin Tsai held the last press conference before the transfer to Warner in Shenzhen. At the press conference, Jolin Tsai publicly admitted for the first time that she will officially sign a contract with Warner on the 16th of this month, and talked about the details of the cooperation.
Denied transfer for Chen Zeshan
Jolin Tsai had been out for ten years and had signed with Universal, Sony, and EMI. Now he had signed with Warner, which happened to be all over the four major record companies. Such an experience was also a myth in the music world. Talking about Warner, who was about to sign, Jolin Tsai changed his previous attitude of not saying anything and answered many questions from reporters generously.
Guangzhou Daily: Did you follow suit to sign with Warner because of your friendship with Chen Zeshan?
Jolin Tsai: It has always been said that I signed to Warner because of him, but it was just speculation. After the old contract ended, many companies came to me and offered me good terms. However, my agent and I felt that the terms offered by Warner were the most comfortable for me, allowing me to focus on performing without having to ask a lot about the contract. In addition, I think Warner really cares about music, which I value.
Guangzhou Daily: Now that you are a queen, is your worth the legendary 30 million yuan?
Jolin Tsai: Not as much as it is rumored from the outside world. I don’t think I am any different, but I may be older. (laughs) I don’t care much about the signing fee. The first priority should be the quality of the music of this record company.
Guangzhou concert continues to be difficult
Tomorrow, sponsored by Bingchun Carlsberg, the "Jolin Tsai Only Dance Guangzhou Concert" will be held at the Guangzhou Gymnasium. At that time, Jolin Tsai will continue her difficult dance, splitting legs, aerial rings, gravity yoga gymnastics, ribbon dance and other housekeeping stunts will be displayed one by one.
Guangzhou Daily: The Guangzhou concert will be held tomorrow. How are you preparing now?
Cai Yilin: Because this Guangzhou concert is a four-sided platform, I’m not used to it. I’m going to Guangzhou tomorrow to check the situation and prepare.
Guangzhou Daily: What is the difference between the four-sided platform and you?
Jolin Tsai: The four-sided stage poses a greater challenge to the singer. When performing, you have to pay attention to the audience on all sides. Sometimes you even get dizzy and don’t know which direction you are going. At two concerts in Beijing and Hong Kong, I often felt dizzy, so there were small stickers on the floor to indicate the direction.
Guangzhou Daily: Is it dangerous to wear super high heels to perform difficult movements at every concert?
Jolin Tsai: It should be fine, because I’m used to wearing thick-heeled high-heeled shoes.
Guangzhou Daily: You have said before that you are too old to do those difficult performances. Have you ever wondered at what age you will stop performing?
Jolin Tsai: I do these things just to see where my limits are. Learning things is my pleasure. If one day this enthusiasm wanes, I will slow down.
Guangzhou Daily: Will the Guangzhou concert sing Cantonese songs "as the Romans do"?
Jolin Tsai: I originally wanted to sing the Cantonese version of "Pretend". But now I find that I seem to have forgotten the pronunciation. If someone can help me practice it, I can sing it, hehe. (Reporter, Su Lei, Intern, Wang Gaocai)
