Mei Lantian is a wrestler with a pair of wrestling ears that have been deformed due to years of training and competition injuries. Guo Fucheng also took the initiative to design the buck tooth shape for the character, and initially chose from three sets of buck tooth models.
One set of buck teeth was unevenly shaped, and one set of buck teeth was all fangs. "I said it doesn’t seem to be shooting, we’re not shooting horror movies, we’re shooting comedies." Finally, he chose a third set of buck teeth with joy.
Before filming began, Guo Fucheng wore buck teeth at home to practice speaking his lines. "When you have to say something very explosive, the dentures will fly out, and there is no way to control it. It can’t be too tight, and I don’t feel comfortable being too tight. So I’m going to try how hard I should use to say those words."
It is also because of this that Guo Fucheng gradually found the rhythm of Mei Lantian’s speech, "I am more impatient, and I will speak in a hurry, very fast. But I think this role can be slowed down a little, and it is more three-dimensional. For example, when thank you and Sorry."
Guo Fucheng had a commonly used Mandarin voice actor who provided Mandarin versions of his works, but he passed away due to illness.
